Introduction to English Law. Academic Coordinator: Dr Joseph Lee. This course will provide you with a broad and critical understanding of the structure and function …

This course will enable students to gain experience in the key foundations of English law/the Common Law system with students from around the world.  Students also take part in a mooting competition during the programme to enhance their understanding of the topics covered in the programme and what lawyers do on a daily basis.  The programme is accredited at 15 credits and 7.5 ECTS, the equivalent to a semester module at Exeter and is taught by faculty from our Law department.

Outside of classes students stay in residences on the main campus and can take part in a social programme which includes a weekend in London plus a number of events in Exeter and the south-west of England.  The programme is also a chance to study with students from around the world with over 30 nationalities represented (including USA, Hong Kong, China, Nigeria, Brazil and most European countries).  Our students have commented that this is one of the benefits of attending our summer programme.

The cost of attending the programme ranges between £2,320 and £2,570, depending on student’s choice of accommodation, and includes tuition, accommodation plus breakfast and dinner, social events and day trips at weekends.  A number of scholarships are also available.  Full details are available online at:  www.exeter.ac.uk/international/summerschool/
